Gulmarg Gondola: The Gulmarg Gondola is one of the highest and longest cable cars in the world, offering breathtaking views of the snow-covered peaks and lush valleys. The Gondola operates in two phases:
Phase 1: Takes visitors from Gulmarg to Kongdoori Station at an altitude of 2,600 meters.
Phase 2: Ascends to the Apharwat Peak at an altitude of 3,979 meters, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas and indulge in skiing and snowboarding during winter.
Apharwat Peak: Located at the end of the Gulmarg Gondola ride, Apharwat Peak is a paradise for adventure enthusiasts. During winter, it transforms into a skiing and snowboarding hub, offering powdery snow and challenging slopes. In summer, the area is perfect for trekking, hiking, and horse riding, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Gulmarg Golf Course: One of the highest golf courses in the world, the Gulmarg Golf Course is set against the backdrop of lush green meadows and snow-capped peaks. The 18-hole golf course is a delight for golf enthusiasts, offering a unique experience in a stunning natural setting. The course is open from May to November and also offers golf lessons for beginners.
Alpather Lake: Located about 13 kilometers from Gulmarg, Alpather Lake is a pristine, high-altitude lake situated at the foot of the twin Apharwat Peaks. The lake remains frozen until June, making it a popular trekking destination for adventure seekers. The trek to Alpather Lake offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, with snow-covered peaks and verdant meadows.
Strawberry Valley: Gulmarg's Strawberry Valley is a hidden gem, known for its scenic beauty and lush strawberry fields. Khilanmarg: A small yet beautiful valley located a short trek from Gulmarg, Khilanmarg offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the Kashmir Valley. In spring and summer, the valley is covered with colorful wildflowers, while in winter, it becomes a haven for skiing and snowboarding. Ningle Nallah: A picturesque mountain stream located about 10 kilometers from Gulmarg, Ningle Nallah is surrounded by lush meadows and dense forests. The stream originates from the melting snow of the Apharwat Peak and flows into the Jhelum River. It is an ideal spot for picnics, nature walks, and fishing, offering a peaceful escape in the lap of nature.
Tangmarg: A charming town located about 13 kilometers from Gulmarg, Tangmarg is the gateway to the hill station. The town is known for its apple orchards, handicraft shops, and traditional Kashmiri cuisine. Visitors often stop here on their way to Gulmarg to enjoy the scenic beauty and purchase local souvenirs.
